ID.me Shopify App & Extensions

ID.me's Shopify extension empowers Shopify store owners to offer discounts to their customers based on community verification status. This guide explains how to set-up the extension in a self-service manner.

Prerequisites

  • Shopify domain (ex. idme.myshopify.com)
  • Shopify user name
  • Shopify password
  • Admin access to Shopify store

Step 1: Install Shopify Plugin


Navigate to the appropriate install link and install

Navigate to the appropriate install link and install: click here to install app

Click Install app to approve install

Click Approve and you will be redirected to the discount settings

Enable community offers(s) with discount amounts

Click Enable

Step 2: Add Checkout UI Block

For Shopify PLUS partners only


Select Online Store & Click Customize

Select Checkout Page

Click Add app at the bottom left of the screen

Select ID.me Community Verification

Partners have the options to configure the following:
  • Offer copy: A call to action that provides a high level description of who is eligible and the potential value of the offer. By default, Select communities receive an exclusive discount with ID.me is configured. Character limit: 150 character
  • Offer restrictions: When included, an Offer restrictions section will be displayed that displayed when What is ID.me? is clicked. Character limit: none

    • Reccommended location is in the Express Checkout section

    Review the What is ID.me? Screen & Click Save

    Step 3: Add Theme App Block

    For basic, regular and PLUS Shopify


    Select Online Store & Click Customize

    Select Cart Editor

    Click Add block

    Select ID.me Community Verification & Click Save

    Partners have the options to configure the following:

  • Offer restrictions: When included, an Offer restrictions section will be displayed that displayed when What is ID.me? is clicked. Character limit: none

    • Reccommended location is at the bottom of the Subtotal section

    You have successfully integrated ID.me’s button using Shopify’s checkout UI and theme app block extensions.

    Step 4: Testing End-to-End


    Navigate to the ID.me Shopify App & Click Choose a Plan

    Scroll and click Accept and continue

    Click Accept Plan & Approve

    Configure Discount Settings & Enable ID.me

    Navigate To Cart/Checkout

    Test Discount Application

    Discount is applied automatically
